Good read, once I finally got through it :P

Ah, neoclassical economists; boffins more comfortable in the ideal world of numbers than the real world of people who create an economic model that starts with the assumption "people are rational". What could possibly go wrong?!

Ted Rall will always be a douche bag in my book.

I noticed you failed to mention the subject matter in his cartoons and instead wished to mention a trifling failure of a reply regarding the cartoonist. Doing so fails to see the point in the cartoons and writes them off as... "douchebaggery". Kinda like you.

Rall cherry picks his information, using such that makes whatever his ideological opponent looks the worst. He rails against capitalism all while picking up a paycheck.

A fairly standard description of how Keynesians like me look on the Chicago school and its effects since it came to prominence; and how folk who think somewhat like me view the situation in general. Which is not to say that we are right, but we think we're righter than the Chicago folk.

Alas, economics is an inexact science and its predictive power is limited. Buffeted by chaos, and the flapping of butterflies' wings, economists are like weathermen: you still should travel with your umbrella, no matter what they say. But just to underline what should be an obvious fact; Paul Krugman is a lot cleverer than either you or me or anyone else here on politicartoons; and more, he has thought about this stuff a lot.

Good post and good commentary. [Tips Hat.]
