Obviously not. Where in what I said does it say that? We haven't really seen any principled conservative commentary at the townhalls, maybe because the whacko squads have been drowning them out too, I guess we'll never know. If there are actually conservatives out there with a principled opposition, they're allowing Fox News and the thug squads to hijack their message. They have every right to stand up and be heard, as long as they are respectful, but to this point it seems they're content letting Glen Beck and the guys with guns do the talking for them. Prove me wrong ( ... )

There has been plenty of principled conservative commentary at townhalls. Sure there have been whackos but they tend to get the media coverage because it makes for better telivision.

So you are saying that if they are NOT respectful then they don't deserve a voice? Hell most of these cartoons are not very respectful. Satire isn't very respectful, that is why it is satire. You ever heard of a little thing called freedom of speech? It isn't just freedom of "respectful" speech. People voicing their concerns...respectful or not have a right to be heard.

Nobody has a right to stand there and scream so another person can't get their point across. That's not civil discourse, it's thuggery. I'm sorry if you can't see that. How would you like it if I stood in your face and screamed gibberish so you couldn't speak? I wouldn't be contributing anything to the discourse, just taking away everyone else's ability to contribute. I am under no obligation to respect your freedom of speech, especially if you are not respecting mine. These townhalls are serious matters and the conservative drones are turning them into shouting matches. It is anti-democratic and I am under no obligation to respect it or to let them succeed. Satire is a form of comedy, what they're doing at the townhalls is not satire. I think someone pointed this out before but you obviously don't know what the word satire means. Satire is not any act that rails against authority. Satire is comedy that points out the foibles of the powerful. I don't think that some lunatic hopped up on meth and Glen Beck screaming down a citizen who ( ... )
