The thing that amazes me is that they think this can possibly work. Even effective protest movements (Black Civil Rights, Anti-Vietnam War), which had focused goals and organized movements, at their most successful only influenced the actual political decision-makers to act to appeased them. And this is so tiny, so confused and so random that I don't see it having much influence at all. So what's the point of it? Self-amusement? A feeling of moral virtue at having "acted politically?"

I honestly think that most of it think they can do great things with this, because they're that ignorant. The intelligence of Americans trends every downwards . . .

I don't want to jinx it but I saw a map yeaterday of where this is happening and I guess is't happening in Tampa but not Miami. I guess in Miami no one speaks enough ENglish to attend the rally. Or maybe since there are a lot of Cubans, they're against most of those peoples' agenda, so there really isn't much sentiment for protest. I was just surprised, its happening in more moderate Central FLorida and not more liberal South Florida.

It may be that agitators are getting people to go to these events, and that their numbers are higher in Central Florida than South Florida. Somebody's gone to a lot of trouble to get this "movement" going, and wherever that somebody's influence is, there will be Occupation events.

Do you think it is wise for the Dems to tie themselves to these people? These Occupy people may have some stances that everyone can agree with, but overall these people are ideological extremists and don't look like people I would want to be associated with.

With few exceptions, nothing the Democrats do any more seems to have any wisdom in it. I think they've all gone mad. And cuddling up to the Occupation types is just one more piece of evidence that they have indeed lost it. Utterly.
