Scribd.com is an asshole

Below are two emails, one I just received from Scribd.com, and my reply to it:

Subject: Your document has been removed

Hello, Polaris93 --

We have removed your document "Phanerozoic Dreamin'" (id: 63848704) because our text matching system determined that it was very similar to a work that has been marked as copyrighted and not permitted on Scribd.

Like all automated matching systems, our system is not perfect and occasionally makes mistakes. If you believe that your document is not infringing, please contact us at copyright@scribd.com and we will investigate the matter.

As stated in our terms of use, repeated incidents of copyright infringement will result in the deletion of your Scribd.com account and prohibit you from uploading material to Scribd.com in the future. To prevent us from having to take these steps, please delete from scribd.com any material you have uploaded to which you do not own the necessary rights and refrain from uploading any material you are not entitled to upload. For more information about Scribd.com's copyright policy, please read the Terms of Use located at http://www.scribd.com/terms.

My response:

Okay, I'm uploading Phanerozoic Dreamin' again. All the material in the thing has been written by me. Some of that material is also in my Walk the Dark, all the material in which was written by me. All original material by me, nobody else. What in the copyright laws prevents that? Nothing. Nobody else wrote it, only me. If you do this to me again (see below), I will spread it all over the Web, blog it everywhere, and never, ever let up. This is evil. Why are you doing this to me -- and to Scribd.com, for God's sake?! There's nothing illegal about it, nothing at all. So why ban my manuscript, just because some material in it is in another anthology of mine, Walk the Dark, all of the material in which, like all of that in Phanerozoic Dreamin', is all my original work! Are you bullies for the sake of bullying? Or just bureaucrats gone wild? And if someone else has plagiarized my work and uploaded it to Scribd.com, why aren't you protecting me from that?

Please share widely. This is unconscionable.
