I don't think HuffPo or AOL News are mainstream media, though. HuffPo is openly partisan and AOLNews was never mainstream, and hitched itself to Arianna's horse back in February.

Oh yes, they are mainstream media. Both are aimed at a huge segment of the public, and are partners with various broadcast and cable TV networks, all of which are featured on AOL, as well. They reinforce liberal attitudes and preach -- the right word -- just what the Left and the Islamists want them too. All hallmarks of mainstream media these days.
