Members of Aleitheia Bible Church in Wisconsin Charged With Abusing Infants

Mar 26, 2011 16:43

Infants as young as 2 months old who are "emotional, grumpy, or crying," Gee -- sounds like colic to me. Parents said that "redness and bruising" were the "common effects of the spankings." So they're punishing infants for having colic with "spankings" that leave them bruised. The parents who go along with this are either idiots or sadists, ( Read more... )

As a grandmother of a 2 month old infant I am sick to my stomach! Any kind of religion (or person) that advocates beating an infant should be prosecuted to the extent of the law - WHAT IS THE STATE OF WISCONSIN GOING TO DO ABOUT THIS ABOMINATION??

We'll have to wait and see what Wisconsin does -- the cops and prosecuting attorneys have to make their case, the accused have to be given defense attorneys, and so on and so forth. But it sounds as if the state has a damned good case against the accused, which means that the accused are going away for quite a while, after which they'll have the sort of record that will make people shy away from them.

I agree that sort of treatment of young children, especially babies, is dead wrong, and should be punished to the full extent of the law. The nice thing about this case is that it is so clear cut -- the teachings of the group leaders are on record, and there are plenty of willing witnesses to testify to how those children were treated. So I do believe justice will be done in this case.

Especially if the group leaders are turned loose in the prison's general population, among all those old hard-timers who really despise baby-beaters and baby-rapers. XD

I agree whole-heartedly. Once in prison, which is where these monsters are going, they will get their own beatings...........unfortunately, well-deserved beathings. =)

If, for whatever reason, they are let off instead of imprisoned, we really ought to keep track of where they live and what they are doing so we can post it here. XD

Rivka had the colic from HELL! One sleepless night, with her screaming in my ear, I Googled "colic" trying to find some help.

I was horrified when I stumbled on a statistic that said that colic was the leading cause of infant homicide in children under one year old. Loss of sleep and constant screaming can be maddening, but just try to imagine how much pain the poor baby is in. How could anyone punish for that? I bet they smack those poor kids for having teething pain, too.

RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE!

From everything I've heard, babies with colic can drive parents wild, and I can't blame them -- but there are limits. Simply talking harshly to an infant can't be understood by it, because it doesn't have the brain development to comprehend anything but the tone of voice, and it has no idea why you are so harsh to it. And physically punishing babies for colic-driven behavior in those circumstances is beyond the pale. It is truly sadistic, because babies aren't responsible for being ill and can't help it, nor can they help being in so much pain, hence punishing them for it just teaches them that the people who are supposed to love and care for them don't, and in fact hate them. Betcha the leaders of that cult know that, too. Betcha they've been on this HUGE power-trip, and that's part of it, along with spousal abuse "in the name of Jesus." (I'd love to be a fly on the wall when they die and have to explain themselves to their heavenly judge -- and I hope Jesus is there, too. He'd belt them proper, he would! XD ( ... )
