There's two possible translations here.

1. In English "Um yum, yummy yummy, num yummy num, yum!"
2. In the language of the Elder Gods "I WILL EAT YOUR SOUL!!!!!!"

They are both equally likely.

I think it's excitement. Cats have odd ways of expressing extreme excitement, especially when it's due to a stimulation that may have an erotic aspect for them. Grooming is a social experience, and it can feel good, at least to some cats. My own cat hates being brushed or combed, period, but his way of expressing it is to take a swat at me and leap away as far as possible.

It makes you wonder just what was in that bag of catnip, anyway? That cat would make an excellent subject for the next Exorcist movie -- but then the audience watching it would be crooning "AWWWWWWWW . . ." the whole time, which would really spoil the effect. ;-)
