The Pledge
Prologue

It wasn't everyday that I'd get to play PS2. So, it was a moment of pure happiness when Reita invited me over to eat at his place, first thing in the morning(well, if 3am is considered morning). See, you wouldn't expect a young 23 year old good looking man like me to live in a dump and work full time in a grocery store. Ah... The wonders of Mankind.

We have many types of people amongst mankind, but I'll summarize it to 3. 3 dominating types.

First, we have the Poor kids. They have lots and lots of mini-jobs and such, and most of them don't have steady schedules. They struggle to survive and to pay the money rent, or simply live with their parents or friends(sometimes, even strangers). Not to forget, almost all of them have dropped out of school, Middle school to be exact. So, I guess it's no wonder not many people engage them for work(it's not good to have prejudices).

Yes. I belong in this category.

The second type is the most common in Tokyo; The Okay kids, like Reita(he's not done with University yet, but he's not far from being an English teacher. And look at his plasma TV in his living room, and the PS2! Truly amazing). Most of them have/went finished University and, therefore, have obtained their diplomas. They have a busy schedule but their job pays and they can live comfortably. Or get even more... which leads me to the final type.

The Rich bastards. Don't get me wrong. I have nothing agaisnt them. No grudges, no disliking, no hate (insert sarcasm). There is a small majority of them but they are still here. They are known to go to private expansive schools and most of them have buildings they own. Or hospitals, or companies or schools or whatsoever. They even have a Rich district only for them. They are mostly known for being arrogant towards almost everyone, even to their own type (as shown on TV and movies...). And they speak good english. And some even send their kids to study overseas (I've never even been in a plane)!

Now, if one would ask me why I'm being an ass only to the rich society, I'll make sure to give a truthful answer, though, I don't think I've been an ass yet.

See, men, they have carried something no one could ever dissipate or manage to break. Well, there is ego, but I'm not talking about that. In my case, we call this something dreams. Yes, Dreams.

Men end up blind with those dreams and would do anything to make them come true. And, if someone ever tell them that their dreams are impossible to achieve, they'll just stick twigs in their ears and play deaf. And that's exactly what I did.

When I was around eleven until the age of early sixteen, I used to have that mentality. For fives damn years, I have been blinded. Ha. The worst part is that I had to pay the consequences of my reckless acts and that led me to now. Dreams, I tell you, are not worth trying to realize.

Sure, you look at celebrities and tell yourselves, "If they can, I can too!". Hey. We have to make that go through our heads : They are gifted.

It's as if some 'Know-it-all' god chose them and only them.

I know.

Truth and reality are things that dig holes in hearts. It hurts.

No worries, I've been through it too. End of the truthful answer as to why I'm being an ass only to the rich society.

I'll give it one week and end it all. With my life, I mean. I'm pretty suicidal.

No, please don't tell me I'm being stupid or irrational. I have nothing to lose or to win (maybe, mom's respect..), and I don't believe in happily ever afters either. I'll give it one week to see if, maybe, I'll find something that would keep me struggling with life.. like a new anime or a video game. Until then, you are free to follow the pathetic tale that is my life.

Uruha. Memorize that name, it's mine.

Uruha, the 23 year old that works full-time in a grocery store. *wink*

TBC...

Author's Note: Yup yup.. Uruha does have lots of prejudices. XD and he's hypocrite, but we still love him.
