Chapter Two

Yunho was sitting down on his leather sofa in his living room(earlier that day, he had to clean up a little, seeing as he'll be having some guests home later in the evening), flipping the channels on his tv with his remote control, not paying attention to his two friends bickering in his kitchen, until he heard ;

"I wonder if you'll ever get married... I mean, you're a good cook, you know how to dance x+y number of dances, and you know how to kick people's asses with your kung-fu... Why aren't you married yet?" Heechul asked none others but Hangeng, his chinese roomate. Yunho decided to to be a part of the conversation, turned his tv off and went to the kitchen, and sat on the chair in front of Heechul.

"Why have you been talking about love these past 3 days? Chullie, don't tell me you're in love?" He asked, a little surprised as Hangeng bursted out laughing, his left hand clinging onto his stomach and his right hand holding a spatula. And, laughing was contagious, so Yunho found himself chuckling just a bit. Heechul gave Hangeng a merciless glare.

"Bwo! Why are you laughing?! I've already been in love! What are you insinuating, you heartless person?" Heechul accusedly pointed his finger towards Hangeng.

The chinese boy only smiled and let out a choked laugh, resuming his task at hand : preparing the food he's already cooked on plates for everyone to eat.

Heechul brusquely stood up and firm on his feet, stormed out of the kitchen, Hangeng hot on his heel.

"Chullah! I was kidding!" Hangeng laughed and caught Heechul's wrist, holding his noisy roomate in his arms.

Yunho was smiling fondly at his friends. Sometimes, he did think they looked kind of dorky, but he couldn't really complain. He was one hell of a dorky dude, too.

So, after Hangeng playfully dragged Heechul back to the kitchen, Yunho had decided to help out with setting up the table.

The dinner went rather smoothly(and strangely, Heechul was awfully quiet). Once finished with eating and washing the dishes(Heechul offered to do it, which was not formally normal), Hangeng went directly to work, leaving the two best buds behind him.

They were both sitting on chairs in the kitchen. Yunho sighed. 'What's going on in his head right now?' he thought, looking over at Heechul, who was staring hard into his caramel pudding, as if wanting to burn a whole into it.

"Heechul, Yunho started, what did you do and why did you wait until tonight to tell me?" Yunho asked, suspiciously eyeing his friend, who was trying to smile innocently. Heechul coughed.

"Well... you know... The usual..." Heechul said, tossing his plate a bit to make space for his hands.

Yunho sighed yet again. "Heechul... I want to have a serious relationship, and I counted on you many times in the past... I thought that I'd meet someone that I'll be worthy of, but it never came."  He said, but he knew his words were lies. He was still hoping to find his other-half through Heechul's blind dates, so he was kind of thankful for the situation, actually.

"But this time, I know it`s going to last! I know that person like the back of my palm, and yes, I think you two match just perfectly!" Heechul exclaimed, waving his hand in front of Yunho for attention. "I know it's not easy to move on after a heartbreaking break up, but you have to move on! You can't let your ex torment you for the rest of your days! Come on! One last blind date?" Heechul begged.

Yunho smirked inwardly. He's already moved on, but it was fun to watch Heechul being all ecstatic about the whole situation. He faked a pout, and met the hopeful gaze of his best friend. ".. Hm.. Allright." In a split second, Heechul was up and all about. He started dancing around in circles, as Yunho only managed to laugh at his hyung.

"Oh Yunho! I love you~!!" Heechul hugged his best friend tightly and before letting go, gave a peck on the other's head. "You are going to love her! She's hot, she's cool, she's fine, she's nice and she's not a pain in the butt!"

Yunho only smiled a little.
Well, if Heechul said the girl was hot, yes, she would be hot.

*

This was definately not his day. Firstly, Heechul didn't invade his house in the morning, and thus, he came a little late for work. Second, Jungsu spilled some coffee on his white shirt, so he had to use the school's laundry room and borrow a Mickey Mouse shirt from Jungsu(but he didn't mind the Mickey shirt, he found it really cute). Third, out of his 28 adorable students, only 11 didn't fail the mini-test he's put so much heart into making easy... And lastly, he was a little too much nervous about his date that he could barely concentrate during the teacher's meeting.

It was a blind date, he knew, but somehow, it scared him lots. He tried to imagine the girl he'll be dating tonight, how she would act in front of him, how she would laugh at his lame attempts at jokes, how she would smile while eating desert, how her eyes would sparkle at his shy attempts of getting to know her better.

He shook his head frantically. There he was, sitting on a reserved table for two, wearing a very casual suit with a leopard-patterned tie. And he would wait for a woman whose lips were red, with a butterfly necklace hanging around her neck.

And so, his heart was beating really fast. He thought about what they could talk about. The weather certainly was out of the question.. Maybe movies? He shook his head again. No. He really didn't know. `Please, let her be the last blind date I would have to go through...' He whispered in his hands and looked up at his watch. It indicated 6:47pm. Ok. So she was only 17 minutes late. He sighed and resumed to his previous activity, the 'what-should-I-talk-about-?' train of thoughts.

That went on for about another good 20 minutes and he sighed. 'Maybe, I should call Heechul and ask him if it's not a prank from him...' he thought. He flipped his cellphone open and dialed his personal match-maker's number. It's not that he was angry, but he simply felt a little disappointed. All the stress he's been living all throughout the day would not be worth the wait.

"Pardon-me. Are you Jung Yunho?" Yunho hastily closed his cellphone and looked at where the voice came from.

His mind was blank. 'Such a beauty...' He thought.

"Yes... I am Jung Yunho."

[Heechul's section]

*sigh* I flipped through that magazine countless of times already. I don't know why, it's been so long ever since, but right now, I'm bored. -_-
Like freakin hella bored! Why does Hangeng has to have work even on friday nights? If he were there, at least I could tease him and make fun of his now gone accent! *sigh*
I'm bored. Same goes with my laptop. There's nothing I want to do with my laptop! I checked my mails already, nothing new, blablabla! No one seems to care about me!

It's infuriating when you expect people to actually care and give you messages...

"Hyung.. Your contacts are really great! Look at all the new messages you've just received!"

"Keep your sarcasm to yourself, shit-head."

"Than make me some tea and stop waiting for people to send you messages. They have a life and no one stays home on friday nights except douche-bags like us. So go. I want to drink tea and eat snacks." So, you surelly do expect me to reply back with the same intensity of hatred, right? Guess what. Nope. I won't say anything because I'm far too annoyed and not in my right mind.

"As you comand, master Changmin." And that reply was supposed to tick him off a little, not to make him laugh out loud.

"Chullie! I was just kidding!" He says and pats my shoulders for me to sit down. "I'll go do it myself. I only wanted to brighten you up a bit. Seeing as you were all down, I simply wanted to start an argument so you won't look so gloomy."

Bah.. Fine. I'll let it slide today. I nod and he walks to the teapot, turns it on and sits down on the chair in front of me.

"Don't worry, hyung. Hangeng will be home in a few hours." He says and smirks.

"What? I wasn't thinking or worrying about him!"

"Then, what are you worrying over?"

I close my laptop and sigh. I wonder why I can't keep things from Changmin. "It's about Yunho and his blind date." I truthfully answer. He blinks, then looks pensive.

"Why would you worry about his blind dates. You usually plan them carefully..." He answers and looks somewhat concerned. "or did you not plan it this time?"

"No. You know I won't let anyone else but me to make blind dates for him.. It's just that I hope things will turn out good." Lord. If you do exist, make my desperate Yunho happy tonight, will you?

"Who's the lady?" He asks. I sigh.

"Hyori."

"Hyung... Hyori, as in Lee Hyori, your ex?" Changmin's eyes are huge. No really! When you look at them intensively, they really seem big! "Hyung! Don't space out!"

"Oh. Did I?" Now, what was I thinking about? oh. Hey, on second thought, my eyes are pretty big too.

"Hyung! You just broke an unwritten rule!" He says, a litte too loud for my liking.

"The heck are you talking about?"

"Unwritten rules! Rules that people follow even if they aren't written on papers. Like, do not go out with your best friend's ex, or do not have sex with your hot and young step-mom. You've just broken one of them!" He exclaims.

"Hey! I don't have a step-mom!"

"Chullie! That was an example! You broke the "Do not match one of your ex-girlfriends with your best friend"! That's like a no-no!" He exagerately sighs and shakes his head.

"What if they do like each other? What if they match? There are no rules against attraction that would lead to love. You were the one who told me that not long ago, it's the first time I'm a witness of your genius contradicting himself!"

An awkward silence follow. ... Ba, now I'm at loss for words. I should have kept my mouth shut!
I start playing with my hair(my nervous twitch) and bitting my bottom lip(yes, another one).

"... Since when do you actually remember things I say?" He asks.

"Hey! What is that supposed to mean? Are you calling me dumb or something? I just thought it was nice the way you worded it out, ok?" 'And I always listen and memorise what you say!', but I won't ever say that out loud. He chuckles, stands up and walk to the teapot.

People surely are wondering why I listen to him, right? Well, you'll know another day, because this is Yunho's story, not mine. kekeke.

"I'm flattered you keep my words of wisdom in your heart, and I'm sorry I forgot about what I told you. It's been a while, so I sort of let it slip my head. It won't happen again, though. I carved it back in my mind." He smiles and sits back down with two cup of tea. He hands me one and I say thanks.

"I just want Yunho to be happy. He deserves it. I mean, he's a good kid.. He always listened to his parents, always studied hard, always selfless and strong. He deserves to have a good life, with a wife and kids his own so I could baby-sit them when he'll be busy with work or something." I confess and stare at my tea cup. Changmin doesn't say anything and I look up to meet his smiling eyes.

"I don't know if Hangeng deserves you anymore. I might steal you away when he's not around." He winks and chuckles.

"Bleh. Whatever. You'll need more than sweet-talking to surpass Hannie."

To the next chapter...!
