Rogue had been sleeping, but lightly. She kept having vivid flashes of dreams that she was afraid to see through, so she let herself toss. She'd just settled when the back of her neck tingled and her ears lead the way into wakefulness- steps. Boots. Worn soles but solid. Trying not to make noise. Then the persons at on the bed and she woke up fully, eyes opening in the dark, but not stirring, and she knew it was Ned.
She let him get mostly undressed before she said, "So where ya been?"
"I don't mean little girl you mean," he said, climbing into bed next to her and lying down with one of his arms curled behind his head. "She was in a bad way."
He knew that he was going to be in trouble when he got home.
