A new challenger! Maylene was standing there waiting. "I accept your challenge! As Gym Leader I declare this to be a three on three match!"

She reached for her Poké Balls and picked one out. "Meditite, I choose you!"

Chris thought carefully about his options regarding the rather small Fighting/Psychic Pokemon. Cassie was part Fighting so she would be weak against any Psychic moves, and Maya had no super effective moves to a fellow Psychic, so...

"Ready Klep?" Chris asked as he threw the Pokeball releasing Klep, his Murkrow. His Murkrow seemed a tad distracted, but Chris just thought he saw something shiny like always. "Nightshade, now!" A blast of ghostly energy flowed from Klep's yellow beak aiming for Meditite.

A Murkrow? This would be interesting. "Use Bide!" she called out, the Meditite managing to brace itself for the attack before impact.

Chris had the unfortunate timing of forgetting to account for Bide. So he decided to switch the strategy to knock Meditite out before Bide could finish Klep.

"All right. I have no choice now. Aerial Ace, Klep!" The Murkrow complied and rushed towards the Fighting/Psychic type.
