In a Pokemon game...

What things do you many focus on about the game? For me, it's the OST(Original Soundtrack), type of trainers, storyline, and level grinding my team. The Pokemon themselves, well yeah I do focus on that but not as much as the OST and storyline. What about you guys?

For me it's the storyline and the pokemon. I don't do elaborate training but I enjoy catching them and levelling them up. (I especially liked the storyline of Black/White though, so that's probably part of why I focused on it so much there.)

Exploring. You never know what you may find by going through the smallest nook and cranny. Also, the intensity of gym trainers, and the satisfaction of beating them.

I focus on training my pokemon, finding as many hidden items as possible, and doing all the little side quests as opposed to the main story. I find those more interesting than the main story. Except the Sevii Islands. I got hopelessly lost for an absurd amount of time in Fire Red, and nothing really tells you where to go.

I tend to focus on my starter, as well as getting a well rounded team. I also seem to get a fix on the pokémon I would like (sawsbuck, galvantula, etc) beforehand and sort of work toward them.

I'd have to agree with you about the soundtrack, (ruby and sapphire was my fav, I think). I also like breeding pokemon I like, even though they might be useless for competetive battling. Just the idea of hatching eggs and raising them is cool. I also like exploring places, like the abandoned ship on R/S was probably my favorite place in any game to go. The Pacifidlog ruins were pretty cool too, but I also like the Unown ruins (specifically the Ruins of Alph in gen 2, but the other unown places too, really).

Of course, the storyline is always nice too, I think gen 3 and 5 had the best. I like gen 2 and all, but I thought the story just wasn't as compelling. I don't even remember the new team rocket guys really. The extra stuff like fighting the Gym Leaders again was more fun than the main "story".

Oh, and I almost forgot, I actually enjoy the pokemon contests on D/P.
