a) Is there any way to rebattle past trainers? As far as I know you never receive an item that allows you to ask them for the rematch (also no annoying phone). If not that's kinda lame ( Read more... )

a) There isn't, but I think you can re battle Cheren in Victory Road (post game). The levels in Nimbasa's sports halls also shoot way up, so it's worth going there to train every day as well.

b) The only way I know of increasing your chances in shiny Pokémon is by breeding with a foreign Pokémon (probably most worthwhile to get a foreign Ditto).

a)baw, I used to love rebattling old trainers so that kinda sucks but oh well.
