So while my sister confiscated my HeartGold for the school term, I had my Pokewalker with me. I was pretty much unable to transfer anything and just let the Pokemon inside gather watts. And the battery died, naturally, along with the 4000 watts I picked up ( Read more... )

From what I understand, the pokewalker stores up to seven days of information. Older stuff gets deleted.

I don't know what happens when a battery gets replaced though. The pokemon isn't lost. The pokemon is still saved in the DS game and I believe a reset option brings back the pokemon.

Well, you store seven days of steps. The watts still accumulate, as I understand it.

I don't think watts ever get deleted, only pokemon and items you've caught get deleted after seven days.

I'm wondering if it might be better to force your Pokemon in the Pokewalker and the watts/items back before replacing the battery. I'm pretty sure it works if the battery is dead.

Forcing it back only gives you the Pokemon. All levels gained etc isn't saved according to the manual.
