Thinking about restarting your file?

You could, but here's what I think about it. I suggest people to consider my advice (and own experiences).

This entry especially applies to people who own Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed, and/or LeafGreen. This is because Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver, and Crystal are no longer compatible with any of the newer files. So, you've probably beaten ( Read more... )

I feel a little stupid now...
ugh

I'm going to complete my new file completely! and if I want to restart, I'll buy RireRed.
I wish I lived next to you so we could trade/battle

It's okay. You did say you transferred all your Pokémon (WITH ITEMS, smart move.. especially TMs and stuff) to another version.

:) Having both FR and LG can be much fun. If you're sure you're going to be playing all alone for a while, you -will- need to restart at some point in order to get the missing Legendary Dog (so for that, I suggest NOT trying to complete your Dex when playing new FR file, just run through the game to get the Dog, move it over, and then you can what you want [either restart that and then make a great file from it, or go ahead and use what you have])...

I always used to restart. I had a highly prized Typlosion in my Silver game (level 81, not high but I loved it a lot) and I restarted it. I've never forgiven myself for that. Then again, I had my silver game stolen instantly afterwards, so yeah.
I must not restart Sapphire. Must not, must not.

Eee. I don't know how I'd react if any of my best games were stolen from me..

Yes, don't! There ARE alternatives.

Thanks for the detailed guide thing. ^_^

I have never restarted a Pokemon game and never plan to. Merely thinking of deleting all my hours of work makes me die a litle inside.

Sure thing. I don't want many people to fall into the trap that I've had to go through so many times. Ughh!

Heh, that's great. Wish I had your brain at those many times of that I did start over. :\

Thanks :) The amount of times I restarted blue is quiet funny. I've had it for ages, and untill this year it's the only pokemon I had. But it's not like I put hard work into it, I just like beating the game with different pokemon. I have colesseum, which is good for trading pokemon :P

Heh, sure thing. I must first complete my Colosseum before I can link with it, blah..

These days, I wouldn't feel guilty about using my Gameshark on RBY now. I mean, it's not going to be going ANYWHERE. Might as well get a Mew for fun (and maybe Celebi for GSC).

I've recently just re-discovered pokemon. I started out as an anime fan at around age 12 (i'm now nearly 19), and was fine with that. I didn't own a gameboy so I never bought R/B/Y G/S/C, but I've played most of those on ROMs on the PC years ago. Well, two weeks ago I caught the pokemon bug again big time after not having anything to do with it for years. I bought emerald and leaf green within three days of eachother, and of course an SP. I've re-stared emerald three times already (most recent re-start today). And I do regret it to an extent, but there's no way i'll be able to get pokemon box, or really another cartidge (for at least a while). I do own gamecube (and colosseum) but neither can be found... I think one of my sisters friends may have stolen them. that or it's been lent out to someone and no one remembers who they lent it too. So it's just way too much money to spend on buying a new gamecube, then box, and colosseum again... even if it would save wasted time ( ... )
