Moveset for Absol

Jun 24, 2005 21:57

I just recently found an Shiney Absol. It's red. ^_^
But more seriously, I was woundering if someone had a decnt moveset for Absol that doesn't require breeding.

Currently, He looks like this:

Absol LV67 Male
Moves
-Bite
-Future Sight
-Quick Attack
-Swords Dance

His highest stat is Attack. Thanks for any help.

training, questions, question, game: ruby/sapphire/emerald, generation 3, pokemon: a, moveset

Well, if you've got a lousy nature, you'll have to breed anyways. Mind you, lousy usually means "not suggested," but on an Absol, I'd say it would be any of the following: Bashful, Bold, Brave, Calm, Docile, Gentile, Hardy, Hasty, Lonely, Mild, Modest, Quiet, Quirky, Rash, Relaxed (especially on a PP burner), Sassy, Serious, Timid. You could probably get away with a neutral nature (Bashful, Docile, Hardy, Quirky, or Serious), but it's generally recommended that you choose one nature that supports a stat (especially one that could benefit your moveset).

Anyways, Absol's best stat is always Attack (which is, in actuality, kind of a shame because it doesn't actually make a decent attacker ( ... )

^_^; Thanks for taking the time to write all that stuff out. I'm clueless when it comes to the new generation pokes and their movesets.

His nature is Quirky. Could be worse I suppose. (And his Hidden Power is Grass. Ar! How useless.)

The only reason why I don't want to breed is because he's shiney, but I'll raise a more serious Absol later using your help(And the second set). I think I'll go with your first one, as I don't have to breed for any of that.

As for the third set, I don't really like using Toxic. It's ruined by Rest, and takes too long to take effect.

Actually, I only have future sight as I didn't want to waste any TMs due to my cluelessness. I usually stay away from pokes that use things like Future sight, Hyper Beam, Dig and Fly.

Yes, thank you again.

You're welcome. And don't worry. We all have to start somewhere. ^_^

As for HP Grass, yep. It could be worse. [shrug]

To the Toxic comment, yeah, though since a good number of Pokemon don't normally sport Rest, it's all pretty much a matter of knowing who to target. If you do encounter a Rester, it'll give you time to set up a Sub and sleep off the HP damage yourself.

As for avoiding those moves, in that case, you're either smart enough to have figured out the downside of those moves yourself before hitting the battlefield or fairly experienced. It's understandable that you wanted to save your TMs, of course, but there's always ways to get alternates, including:

- Purchasing them where available (Department Stores, Game Corners).
- Trading them from one game to another. (Works best if you've actually got more than one GBA/DS and more than one version, but if you ask a friend nicely, that'll be handy too.)

Oh, I never congratulated you on getting a shiny. Nice job.

It's alway fun to see my opponents using Fly on my Sceptile, only to smack against a Protect.

I'm miserly when it comes to TMs as most of the good ones are hard to acquire. But, I'm going through Green right now to pick up more TMs so I can trade them to my Emerald. It's just slow going at the moment.

Heh. Besides the Red Gyarados in G/S, it's the first one I've seen.

I have Shadowball and Aerial Ace TMs. So no worries.

I think Return is better then Slash though.

So does Leaf Blade and I almost never get criticals >_<. With my bad luck, I'd rather use something relible.
So yeah, I guess your right about personal preferences.
