I've been trying to catch Latias (or Latios, whichever it is) in Sapphire. In the communtiy's tags, I found a post asking about how to do this, and somebody (can't remember who it was) said you should use a repel, do bunny hops in the grass for about 20 seconds, enter and exit a building on the same route if nothing happens, and repeat the process ( Read more... )

My advice would be to go to routes 120 and 121. Lati@s should appear within the first four or five wild Pokemon battles if you happen to be in the same route is it at. Use these specific routes because both have tall grass and transferring between them is not blocked by a city or some other obstruction.

That worked! Thanks. :D I never understood what the repels and bunny hopping were for, look like it's easier without them, haha.

I'm pretty sure the bunny hops do work, but those people who caught the Pokemon in the first 15-20 minutes are just lucky.

I've had times when I've run into the Pokemon almost immediately using repels and I've had times when I was basically ready to throw the game into the fiery pits of hell because I just couldn't find it - using the exact method.

You're doing it correctly, you just gotta keep at it. Another thing that I also do is just travel around the region and hit the various locations where the Pokemon might be. Chances of finding it are probably still the same, but it kept me from going crazy from looking at the same spot for 2 hours.

Oh, and another thing. To save my money from being wasted on Repels, I saved the game right after buying a batch and if I didn't catch the Pokemon before the Repels ran out, I just restarted the game. This way, I could at least "reuse" the ones I bought.

I found a way that worked better for me... I tried that one and it took so long. x.x

If you don't mind having to set up your secret base again, then you should try making a secret base right next to a patch of grass, then going in and out of that. I caught Latios in the first 10 minutes of doing that.

I did this like, right by the Safari Zone. There should be a nice spot right there, and just go in and come back out and either do bunny hops or run around in the grass. I just ran around, it's a bit less boring than bunny hops.

Also, make sure the head of your party is like level 40 if you're using Repels.

Lati*s will be level 40 so you want the head of the party to be near 40 but definitely under 40. :)

I used a level 42 golbat actually (for Mean Look), good thing it knew Wing Attack and Latias can easily take that a few times, hehe.
