Trace or Synchronize?

So I was passing over my beloved team the other day when I noticed something. My Timid Gardevoir has Synchronize, not Trace, ohnoez. Then I started comparing the two abilities to see if I had to hunt down a Wifi spot to trade it to someone with PokéSav to get it hacked to Trace, and decided...no, I don't ( Read more... )

I think you're probably right about Trace being a high risk, high reward sort of ability. One other thing that makes it useful, though - Trace now works with Intimidate, allowing you to drop the Atk of Salamence and Gyarados when you come in. With a Bold nature and a big investment in Def, Gardevoir makes a solid counter to both of them.

Oh, as a side note; Hustle only affects the accuracy of physical attacks. Not a big deal for most Gardevoir. ^^b

Yes, that was fun when I was levelling something. I can't remember what it was, though, just that it Intimidated the Gyaradoses. It may've been my other Ralts that became a Gallade.

Really? That's a good thing. It'd just be mostly useless to it, then. XD

No, Skill Swap, Roleplay, and the Trace cannot copy Wonderguard.

Actually, I believe one of those things can. According to Bulbapedia, it CAN be Traced, but not Skill Swapped. Smogon said whether it could be Role Played or not, but I don't think it could.

So yes, I guess Wonder Guard would be an excellent thing to Trace. XD
