Tom's Teams: The Eeveelutions

The Eeveelutions have such a great fan following, and on the surface, this mania over the Evolution Pokémon and its multiple-pathed evolutionary line is justified. Eevee is one of the rarest non-legendary Pokémon to obtain in the series. It's not until Generation IV until you get a chance to catch them wild. Plus, a good many of them are OU/BL ( Read more... )

I've always liked Flareon the best out of all the Eeveelutions- it's such a shame she got completely shafted in every way. At least the attack/special split was mildly useful for her.

Also, I think your HTML is a little wonky- the link for Jolteon leads to this entry, instead of your monotype Electric team.

Why would anyone want to use a Choice Scarf? That's the one that only lets you use one move over and over again, right?
What kind of advantages does it hold besides the boosted speed?

Boosted speed can mean a lot in a battle between two evenly matched Pokémon, especially if you're going against something that might be faster than you with everything equal, but something you can easily OHKO unscathed if you have a speed advantage.

I'm trying to build an Eeveelution team right now, so this is a lot of help in deciding what moves to put on them. :D

Also, while Hidden Power can help provide type coverage in an otherwise shallow movepool, it's frustrating trying to get the right type. >_< And when I input stats into Serebii's IV calculator, the Hidden Power type seems to change as they level up. o_0 Any tips on that, or do I just have to get lucky?

It has to do with IVs, which are hidden. You have to figure out your Pokémon's IVs manually. There are two ways to do this:

1 - Do a Lv. 100 battle over Wi-Fi and check the stats of your Pokémon there.

or

2 - Raise it manually to 100 and check the stats.

Then, you input the stats into the Serebii IV calculator. Remember, you have to keep track of your EVs as well and figure them in when you enter your info.

I would go w/yawn over toxic on the Umbreon. Trap passing is good and all, if all you're doing is poisoning something, you'll want to pass to a stronger/faster counter. Which, is kinda hard w/just Eevees.

IMO of course.

Props for using Lefeaon, who is mah fave.
