Monotype Team: It's Electric!

Lanturn, Zapdos, Rotom, Magnezone. What do they all have in common? They're the only final Electric evolutions that have a second type. What significance does that have to this post? Well, that means you don't have to worry too much about other types filtering out the type's relatively decent defensive typing (only weak to Ground, strong against ( Read more... )

Thank you! I've been trying to find a nice combo for Rotom! (he's one of my absolute favorites)

I'm also tempted to go soft-reset for a shiny Rotom now also XP

Looking good! I LOVE electrics, so I'm liking this a LOT! My Ampharos uses a similar set (or it will once I train it some more.) It's nice to see it get some love, actually :D

Aah the wonders of Eevee. Crappy, crappy movepool. If you're looking for an alternative to Roar, which Jolteon is kind of too frail to use really effectively, Baton Pass might be an option. I know you don't have anything to BP, but since it'll go after your opponent switches, it'll let you scout a bit ( ... )

Yeah, I did mean Jolly for Electivire. Brain fart on my part.

Charm is a pseudohazing move more than a survivablility move (but it helps the latter function). GK and TB cover a good range (including 1x on Steels, who generally have worse SpDef than regular Def anyway), and NP is probably the best new move for Raichu in Gen IV.

I wanted Discharge on Rotom over T-Wave because I already have WoW and it would seem a bit redundant. I bulked up its Spd enough that I hope most UU critters wouldn't be able to outrun it. I just wanted to increase survivability a little bit so that I could get the Confuse Ray set up.

Never thought about BoltBall before, so I'll have to look into that. Thanks!

Question: is Volt Tackle an actual move? And if so, who can learn it?

Volt Tackle is a Pikachu-evolution exclusive move. It can only be bred onto Pichu by breeding a Pikachu/Raichu while holding a Light Ball. I forget where you can get one outside of hacking it.

So the anime SORT OF cheated, since it seems Ash's Pikachu magically learned it and didn't know it from the beginning? How powerful is it?

It's a Physical move in Gen IV, base power of 120 and base accuracy of 100. The user gets recoil of I believe 30% of the damage dealt.
