I feel the same way. Arguably, it has more depth than Grey's because there are less characters to go through each week, enabling the writers to come up with so much individual stuff. Violet and Cooper are really good characters though. I mean, despite him being a total pervert, and schoolboy for Charlotte, he’s so cute with Violet. Amy Brenneman is such a fantastic actress too--she could work with anything and make it seem amazing.
Does Cooper know about the rape? I remember Violet getting huffy about rape-joke in last week's ep, but I don't remember if he was around or not.
Yes, I agree. There is definitely more depth and I think the characters are a bit more mature.
Violet and Cooper are great. So is Charlotte. Addison's fine, Naomi needs a little work (but, I forgive her because I love Audra McDonald), and the other three boys (Sam, Pete, and Dell) are just kind of in between and can be fleshed out more. But, I think we'll get more fleshing out as the season continues.
I was trying to determine if Cooper knew about the rape. I would say no just because he's never given us any indication that he does.
I would think that he wouldn't just because it happened before he knew Violet and as Violet's friend had said, Violet tried to bury it.
Plus, it would make the plot/relationship more interesting if Cooper didn't know because it would open the door for a later reveal episode, where we might get the details, too, you know?
