...that's probably not how things are done around here, N

[Hello, Awesome Island! This particular section of the CMA is relatively clear, actually, a good amount of the snow having melted and the runoff leaving the ground springy and damp; it's a bit warmer today than it has been lately, and N has apparently decided that it's about time that he greeted the day properly, a brown satchel made of thick ( Read more... )

[...And here Landlos thought that trainers just went on their way when they beat the living daylights out of a Pokemon. This Kami has been watching for a bit, even considering the fact that she's been used to seeing Pokemon left behind by a trainer after training with them.

...This might actually be kinda nice. Either way, Landlos will be floating on over in a somewhat amused state. She'll be clapping just a bit as well.]

And here I thought you trainers left these Pokemon in the dust after you defeated them. Nice to see someone who cares.

[Why yes, there is a floating female Pokemorph floating nearby. ...We're silently hoping we don't break your brain.]

[Well, given that you appear human, he's not going to think much of your presence - he can sense that something seems a little...strange, sort of like the general feeling he gets off of talking to one of his friends, but first things first: he's going to continue to tend to that Roselia without looking up for a moment.]

It would be cruel to harm them and then just leave them alone to suffer; if training must bring them pain, then I -

[While he speaks, the Roselia has come around, albeit horrendously confused; he sends it on his way and then finally looks at his...com...pan...ion...]

Ah - !

[I am mentally twelve and what is this]

[This island breaks everyone's brain, N. This is but the beginning.

Either way, Landlos will raise that shocked look with a bit of a chuckle. Ah, you whippersnappers never did get used to the unusual, did you? She'll wait til you're finished with Roselia, before speaking.]

You'd think they'd tell trainers that. You've got a good head on your shoulders there.

[Alright, landing time.]

...Never seen a human do that before, have you?

I haven't, no.

[Though there is that feeling that he can't quite shake - that sense of familiarity...]

But...I've met some on this island that appear human, but aren't. Are you...?

[ Oh thank god she isn't the only one that did that. Dawn's just grinning over at the scene, with the little firefox at her feet looks mightily impressed! ]

[He finishes healing the Roselia before sending it on its way - it's more than happy to go, really, given that what N has managed to do is confuse it horrendously. He can't exactly explain himself before he attacks, however, so...

He stands up, brushing himself off a bit and rubbing absently at the water marks from the wet ground on his pants before straightening fully; he's glancing around to see where his friend has gotten to, when - ...oh. Well. Um.]

Ah...hello.

[The greeting is stiff and more than a bit awkward, though it's for more reasons than the usual this time around.]

Dawn, isn't it?

[ She doesn't quite understand why he sounds so... uncomfortable? As good a word as any. ]

That's right. Have we met?

In a way. I've met another version of you - a double, I suppose people call them. They're interesting paradoxes; I can meet you without having met you at all, and people can be in multiple places at once without ever leaving one spot.

So technically, no - we have, and we haven't.

... ...

[Is that what he thinks it is...? Red didn't even know wild Pokemon would accept medicine from a trainer.]

[Just sort of... staring. He doesn't get it.]

[They're unconscious, and even when they aren't anymore, it's a matter of a couple of quick sprays; they don't have much choice, as far as N is concerned, though in this case it's definitely for their own good that they don't.

He finishes healing the Roselia before sending it on its way; it's a bit lost and decidedly displeased with him, but there's not much helping that, he's afraid.

He sighs a bit before turning and reaching out toward his gears over there; he offers them a bit of affection in the form of pettings and some congratulations on a job well done before he stands up, brushing himself off and starting to wander through the grass again now that he's sure that the Roselia is well clear.

It isn't long before N notices the trainer watching him; he doesn't know this one. He makes eye contact, and his expression is reasonably pleasant, despite the fact that he doesn't know why this person he doesn't know would just be...watching him like that.]

Hello...

[The word is awkward - a bit stiff, perhaps - but at least he gets it ( ... )

... [Red blinks, not quite aware of the extent to which he was staring. Four years of isolation will do that to a person. He freezes a bit when N speaks, knowing he can't directly answer. After a moment, he nods in what he hopes is a greeting sort of way.]

[But just to make it clear, he digs for his pen and notebook and writes down the word 'Hello' in just large enough letters to be read by N.]

[Oh, he doesn't speak...but that's all right, really. N has met at least one other here that doesn't.

Since this one doesn't have a device to help, yes and no answers might be best.]

Are you a trainer as well?

[Ah! Hello there, Yellow, he's met a few of you here before - but you seem to be a new one, as far as he knows.

Either way, every Yellow he's met before has been pretty cool on the Pokémon front, so chances are you're pretty cool as well!]

I do - it's just cruel, otherwise.

[N smiles at that, though he diverts his attention downward toward that Roselia in his arms again; a quick Full Restore and a few very confused moments later on the plant's part, it wanders away from the pair of...fairly excited trainers in the grass and N returns his gaze toward Yellow.]

I'm glad to hear that - it actually pleases me very much. Most people don't share that sort of sentiment...one of the best things about this place is that it's allowed me to meet those that feel the same way.

[As shaken though he is, N has come to accept such things as necessary; as the newcomer approaches, he's in the process of checking Roselia over before setting it off on its way - a process Roselia is none too pleased about, because really, there's not much that can be done given that N didn't have much of a choice other than to clock it into next week with no warning whatsoever - but as Roselia kind of...wanders off confusedly, N registers that he's being spoken to.

A quick glance up confirms it; he's actually really pleased to see you, Slowking. Pleased smile, get!]

Ah, hello there!

[...you know, explaining this sort of thing to a Pokémon is incredibly difficult...]

Though I dislike needless battling, it is sometimes necessary for me to assert myself if someone is mistreating their friends or bringing harm to others. The only way to assert myself sometimes is through battle, and so I need to ensure that my friends are strong enough. You mentioned training yourself; it's necessary for my friends to do so as well.

However, I think it's cruel to just leave injured Pokémon alone. I don't want to hurt them in the first place, but it's necessary sometimes...if I must harm them, then it's only right that I heal what harm was done.
