It is. They've been giving her the go around ever since Team Rocket tried to take over. [Thus why those poor little guys look so tired.]

I think she got caught up in the attack. The day before she said she had to get some things from where she'd been staying and she hadn't come back.

It would explain her injuries. Wild Pokemon avoid her for it to be caught up by them.

She's rather hard to injure and she said she'd been feeling a bit better than usual, so it's unlikely she fell off a cliff on her own.

[Pauses.] Pokemon smell the sickness. That's why they avoid her.
