The roamer... has a birthday?

Aug 31, 2010 03:50

[It's been some time since the pink-haired Lake Guardian has been outside. She's recovered rather nicely, thanks to a lot of rest and sweet recuperation. Those red gems are still slowly regenerating, now about halfway complete. Even after everything that had happened, Mesprit has cheered up and healed nicely.]

Ah, there we go... Perfect!

Or perhaps this? seadrift_angel August 31 2010, 18:55:42 UTC
[It's been even longer since Phione has wandered about on land. It might be just pure chance that she managed to make it to where Mesprit was.]

Mesprit of the Lakes! Might that be you?

[Ohohoh, it's so perfectly sweet that Phione can't resist uttering a happy cry.]

How it does! Your skills of cake-making must be unrivaled!

[Oh stop it. You're making her blush!]

Ah, thank you, Phione! I... I just followed the recipe and worked on the flavors, but I'm sure there's a better cake out there than mine! I am still glad that you like it!

[Oh, how humble she is.]

Cake of any sort is delicious. I have only tasted it but thrice, for cake is not made well beneath the waves of the Kingdoms.

[She agrees with that. Cake is good~]

Oh my... Wet cake doesn't sound like it'd taste that good, does it?

That it does not! The foods of the Kingdoms of the Seas are much different from those of the land kingdoms, after all.

[And she's used to living underwater too. Unfortunately, Berries don't grow in the depths of the Lake. ;__; But now she's curious.]

Huh... I didn't know that! What is food like where you're from?

[Dude, living under the lake is no comparison to living in the ocean.]

The foods of the Kingdoms of the Seas are often salty and hard, unless they are the harvests from the forests of kelp.

[For once, Mesprit's got a look of disgust on her face. Hard and salty just aren't her taste either...]

Salty? Ick, that doesn't sound tasty at all... and I've never tried kelp.

[Phione can respect that; different tastes, after all. Not to mention land cuisines, to her knowledge, are prepared differently, so of course it'd stand to reason that their tastes trend differently.]

Might you know of the leafed plants within the land kingdoms? Our forests of kelp look much like them, but whether they taste the same, I do not know.

[Well, she knows what plants are, but what they taste like? Nah, this pixie prefers Berries, not grass and plants.]

Like grass and trees? And... and Berry plants too?

The Berry plants sound most similar. Though kelp does not grow berries.

...There are Kelpsy Berries on land though... I wonder if they are similar...

[Pixie is now deep in thought...]

[And curious Phione is curious.]

Kelpsy Berries... I do not know. I have not seen them before. Might you know more of these Kelpsy Berries, Mesprit of the Lakes?

They're long Berries like this -[She uses her hands to show how long they were, maybe about shoulder-length?]- and they're usually a pretty blue-green color, but... I've never tried them before. I have seen them growing around Sinnoh, but it was rarely. Probably planted by a passing Trainer or Berry grower.

...Hey, maybe they can be found around here! This island seems to have lots of different Berries growing... [Now there's a good idea, isn't it?]

[Oh, definitely. It's piqued Phione's interest, at any rate.]

If the Kelpsy Berries do grow nearby, then might we go to see them? Then I may tell if they are like the kelp I know of!
