[Thanks to her big-brother Palkia and that quirky Swablu of hers, it seems that Mesprit is safe from harm's way. However, she still looks to be in bad shape. She's been knocked out of consciousness and is barely breathing; not to mention she's still got bruises and scrapes all over from that battle. At least she's at home just outside of the CMA,

[This whole business has been something that Cyrus had no intention of interfering with. He's been keeping himself back, away from most of the destruction, but he has observed; the atrocities committed on this island have been truly hideous in his eyes

[Oh, he heard. She is, after all, the only speech-capable being around, and their surroundings are nowhere near as loud as they have been.]

I can assure you, Being of Emotion...such sentiments remain useless to me. Surely you realize by now that I would not partake in such vacuous actions. Compassion is a hindering delusion at best...nothing more.

[She probably should have expected that sort of response from him... but blame her for still being out of it. Mesprit was usually good at remembering things, but perhaps she's still grateful for being brought back into consciousness after that attack.]

[Okay, that was...well. What was that...? Other than a lot of backpedaling at the last minute, that is. Either way, he's not angry with her. If anything, he's looking at her a bit oddly again, but the expression passes quickly and before long his features are impassive again.

Though he isn't showing it physically, that attempt at an abrupt verbal about-face was oddly entertaining, unsuccessful though it may have been.

However...]

Do you still not believe me when I say that I have renounced all emotion? Somehow I doubt that you can fathom such a thing...as such, you will see my intentions as far different than what they actually are. Your perception remains clouded...keep in mind that everything I do has some sort of logical reasoning behind it.

I have spared your life. This much is true...at the same time, remember this well. This was not a random act of compassion...everything has a purpose.

[And now for something quirky.

Before Mesprit can even reply, Alto manages to escape her arms and leaps into the air to stretch his cotton wings. He's still feeling so happy that there's a little tune filling the air.]

Swaaa~! Swaa-swa-bluuuu~! You saved Mama~! Thank youuu~!

[...and guess where he chooses to land? Yep, right on top of your head, Cyrus. Enjoy that now, ok?]

Cyrus recovers himself fairly well, the jolt upon realizing what the little fluffbundle is doing notwithstanding. Though he's looking a bit...less than impressed.]

[The sight of Alto on his head easily makes her chuckle sweetly. Mesprit's not being rude, oh no... ]

Ah, yes! He's just thanking you for saving me, that's all! [She lightly laughs again. As much as she'd like to let it remain because it's just too adorable to resist, she decides to do as she's told.] Alto, you can sit here instead! [She pats the top of her own head, as she's used to it.]

[Aw, and he was having fun with a blue nest for once... but Alto's not one to disobey his Mama's rules, so with a gentle leap, he returns to Mesprit's side, landing on her pink head of hair.]

Mama~! [Oh, he's very comfy up there... so after settling in, Alto gently sighs and closes his eyes to rest. He's been real busy in his vigil, so he deserves it.]

[Well, that had been...surreal, to say the least. Given how Cyrus has raised his Pokemon, he can't say that he's used to displays of affection like that - of course, he also can't say that he likes it, as he's never considered the creatures to be anything remotely close to friends. The relationship he has with them is as he's described it before - pure symbiosis, nothing more.

That a Pokemon should behave like that around one that isn't its trainer...quite frankly, it's bizarre to him.]

...it would be in your best interests to control it.

Oh? [That suggestion's a new one for her. Then again, Mesprit still is new in the realm of parenthood.]

Well, I suppose I can try. I've never raised a baby before... but I'm trying my best, making sure Alto is happy, healthy and well-protected. [She pauses, glancing upward a little as she senses Alto's comfort as he sleeps. Still, the Being smiles lightly back.] I'll keep that in mind though. I don't want him to cause any trouble...
