[Well, this guy's not a Gym Leader, and he's sure as hell not your mother. But he might be kind of interested in that kid who just came out of nowhere with some random snow blowing in behind him. In fact, he'll just stay right here leaning on this tree while you get your bearings. Or he would if a certain shark Pokemon of his didn't decide that it would be cool to greet the newcomer.]

[Say hello to Sharpedo! He's not attempting to attack you, but you are wearing red and red = Team Magma. So he's just sort of curiously nudging at your clothes and probably abusing them with his Rough Skin.]

Dunno. I've got some issues with Team Magma to fix, so that's what I'll be doin'. Guess you should probably look around. There's some new Pokemon I've seen 'round here; that might interest you.

Nah, Magma's small-time. I could handle 'em on my own if I really wanted to. [But there's really no sense in beating them up here, is there? They'll still be in his world and he'll still have to beat them to gain the upper hand, and Kyogre. So no, there really isn't any point in picking fights with them. He still will, of course. Gotta keep that self-image intact.]

Workin' for a professor? [Oh that's rich. Get a kid to do the work for you, old man? Tch. It's that Pokedex thing, right? Yeah, that's got to be it. Go record data on all the Pokemon! - Or some bullshit like that. Who cares?]

Well, I was on a mountain by myself. There were a lot of pokémon there, but after a while I stopped seeing new ones…. [No way, maaaan. That’s anime-verse. Old-school pokédex owners have to record all that information themselves.]
