3 Hooker Morning - The First 300 Miles

Aug 13, 2008 22:20

I've been riding my Yokota road bike ($50 Craigslist score) for a little while now. I ride it to work once or twice a week lately. I've put over 300 miles on it since I got a computer for it to track my miles. It's still in pretty much the original condition that I bought it in. I have replaced the tubes, tires, brake lines and levers, replaced ( Read more... )

So, if you pick up a hooker on your bike...... umm..? How would that work, exactly?

I pondered that very question. We were right next to an apartment complex, perhaps that's where she does her deeds. I mentioned this morning's experience to a coworker and he thought it might be a police sting operation or something. Makes me wonder.

Ah, brings back memories.

Back when I lived in NRH and actually went in early in the mornings to work, I'd take all manner of side roads. I got solicited twice around Walnut Hill and I35E in the morning by "the ladies" in cars pulling up next to mine (one time, there were two in the car!), and once on the way home. (That may have been Royal and I35E.)

Same general neighborhood I'd guess, just a bit north.

When we first moved into our current home, there were prosties walking our streets on about a bi-weekly basis. I haven't seen one around here in quite a while. The fact that they just appeared out of nowhere makes me wonder if a crack dealer just got a new shipment or if it was payday for the night crew at one of the local factories.

I don't know what to say about the hookers, but... c1 August 14 2008, 06:32:00 UTC
It takes 50-55 minutes to come home (uphill, tired, South winds, etc).

Dude, you don't know. Up here, we have it going uphill BOTH ways, barefeet, and we have to fight off grizzly bears while dodging errant moose.
Oh, and through 2 feet of snow. In July.

*grin*

Loved the "hooker fashion critic" idea. That could almost deserve its own LJ community, if it wouldn't get shut down on day one.

I've found it odd that I can get to work in 40 mins, but it takes up to 55 mins to get back on the same route. Oh, and I forgot to add that it's usually about 25 degrees hotter on the way home than it is in the mornings.

As for the fashion critic idea, ttiwwop. In fact, pics would need to be taken in order to critique anything. I don't think their pimps would appreciate that.

A hooker in a red prom dress. Now that's something I've never seen on my commute. :D
