'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince' - the movie review!

Went to see Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince today. Anybody who read my livejournal/has known me through my reading of the HP books back...oh...what was it...4-5 years ago (wow! :o ) knows how crazy I've been about these books/movies - especially HBP. We watched the movie while away on vacation as well - the one thing I thought was funny that in a movie called "HP and the Half-Blood Prince" they sorts of neither explained the half-blood nor the Prince thing (other than that "Potions Prince" throw-away line that I don't think many people caught...) My daughter (who hasn't read the book) did get that at all.

I really wanted a "Snape teaches Defense" class, but you can't have everything!

I thought it was alright. Like you, I was sort of taken aback by the lack of any battle at the end.

And I agree - after that added scene (where Snape sees Harry and motions to him to be quiet before doing the deed) it seems pretty obvious he can't possibly be a bad guy (though honestly, that scene made little sense to me - if I were Snape, I'd at least have petrified Harry to make sure he stays out of trouble -- why would he all of a sudden actually start believing Harry would follow instructions, LOL?)

My sister and mom were very confused about why Snape's a "Prince." It was funny when we got home and my mom said "I just assumed he's some sort of royalty" meanwhile my sis said she remembered my saying he was more on the poor side, so...didn't make sense, haha!

LOL yes why WOULD Snape believe Harry would suddenly start following instructions...? Maybe because Dumbledore asked him to get Snape anyway so Harry just did..?? Ah who knows. All in all it wasn't bad, though.

I too wanted a Snape the DADA professor scene though... ♥ Oh well - we get Snape the something else in one or both of the DH movies - squee! (We best get some - ie. LOTS - of random Snape scenes. Keep is informed that he's still around...yup...that'd be nice... :P)
