Filtering - why it gets me mad

I don't really filter. I only have one filter which I think I used twice for something personal which wasn't for sharing round the whole world and really true friends who know me and my family were privvy to that. I know some people have filters for personal or work stuff which they announce and ask if you'd like to be on specific filters and I ( Read more... )

There is one my filters you aren't on.
But i don't think i've dramatastic on it lately, in fact i don't think i've been dramatastic much at all recently. I should probably get out more.

It's my hard core filter, and happy to have you on it, if you want to be. Not that i have posted much on it all, of any note recently.

Filtering of the "if you want to read this then you're welcome, but I'm protecting the rest of you from my ramblings about knitting" is one thing.

Posting to filters where you think you can keep a secret by doing so, is asking for trouble. I've done it before, and secrets _always_ get out, unless your friends groups are completely segregated.

I filter things because LJ is a social space for me, and some people I don't want in some spaces. If those people would rather be defriended, I'd understand.

You're on all my filters apart from one - which has 5 people on it. I trust them not to share what's on that, although I haven't used the filter in a good while.

I'm realistic though, I don't post on LJ if I can't handle what I wrote becoming more public than I intended. People, technology and trust can all fail
