I suggest more quality control in terms of players and apps.

Good suggestion. How would you suggest we encourage this without coming off as inaccessible and/or a bunch of elitist jerks?

Well, really, there's the basics--characterization, grammar and spelling. I would, personally, say that, "Hey, sorry, but you're not exactly what we're looking for. Thanks for considering us and thanks for apping!" Or something.

And of course, encourage to re-app :D

If we beef up the app a little, I think we'll get more people who are accepted and actually do something as opposed to the few we got who then disappeared XD

Oh! And updates on the comm when we do get new people. Like "Hey :D Welcome so and so who is playing so and so! YAY WELCOME :D"!

Thought of a new one and I'm too lazy to edit:

STOCK DETECTIVES! Rather than halting all case related drama because we lack evidence, stock detectives could be used by player characters while looking for evidence.

also

STOCK LAWYERS! As much as we love Feeny and Edgey, there ARE other laywers about California besides the ones we see in the games.

Suggestion 3 - The return of our gossip rag, y/n? I'd like to make it a regular thing (perhaps bi-weekly) but it would require participation from players to keep it fresh.

Everyone should be required to give all mods, new and old, cookies and pampering.

How about somewhere in our check-in/catch-up threads, we have a big bold line saying what time of year it is for the RP? Just to make sure everybody's going at around the same pace and to make sure no one gets confused about how time is flowing. Like:

IT IS CURRENTLY MID MARCH/EARLY SPRING/WHATEVER IMPLEMENT OF CONVEYING ABOUT WHAT TIME IT IS Good night and have a pleasant tomorrow

The problem is that not every character is on the same time frame thanks to some threads taking longer than others. For the record, time flows naturally (real time) in the RP unless the characters choose to slow down time for a particular storyline (and there's something else to add to the restructured rules.)

Personally, I think real-time will slow things down too much. I wouldn't mind getting in some time skips, because realistically, most of these people aren't going to see each other like every single day.

Perhaps we should make certain time-rules. Like, case or plot-related RPs should be day-by-day while others that last for shorter periods should be given a specific time.
