I got my Peter Gabriel CD in the mail yesterday, referenced in this LJ post, but could not listen to it because severe storms knocked out our power for over twelve hours. The weather is severe enough that it bears mentioning. It's been raining at least since Friday. We had flash flood warnings in my area yesterday. It's lunchtime now, and the sky outside is really dark -- the wind is blowing, and there's a little lightning in the distance. I'm at work. Which is a normal, economically sensible place to be right now. However, the weather outside is beautiful: sunshine, just a little cool breeze . . . The weather outside is wonderful today! With the heavy rains yesterday, it's cool and damp . . . this sounds so dippy, but it's very soothing to the skin, moist -- feels almost like a cool cucumber eye press gently caressing your whole face.

Snow! At the beginning of the new year! I'm not superstitious, and yet I can't help but take that as a good omen - all clean and white - a fresh start. I'm going to pop my little snowfall background back up in honor of it. ;)

Feeling a little Christmasy, so I changed the background here to a quiet snowfall and hung a stocking from the first table on the page. :) Now that I've played around a bit with customizing the page, I may do more in the future, after the holidays.
