I should never, ever, ever doubt Phaedra. I mean, I felt it was reasonable, given the circumstances! She is giving birth to her first child, this generation's first grandchild, this week. I believe tomorrow is the planned date, assuming it doesn't change again. Tomorrow morning, checking into the hospital . . . and still this amazing human being ( Read more... )

Well, even in the last days of pregnancy you do stuff. Think about it. Do you want to lie around and contemplate the upcoming surgery/labor and the sleep-deprived happy days to follow? Or do you want to go and do life stuff?

I had a good friend get married on my due date. I went to the wedding, huge and waddling, but I went. People were surprised at me, but I asked them what they expected me to do. Lying around going "I'm soooooo pregnant" gets old, believe me.

Congrats to Phaedra! Get done what you can now! ;)

I guess I just didn't expect it -- but then, she's so organized, you're right. She's probably had the bag packed, gas in the car, and all the various and sundry forms filled out for a bit. :) I just guess I figured with such a big life event, she might have other priorities than my wee little article, and I appreciated it. :)
