Kudos to BioWare

I'm very proud of one of my favorite gaming studios today. BioWare, the Edmonton-based creator of Baldur's Gate, Mass Effect, and other best-of-class RPG titles, has recently released Dragon Age: Origins. The game is rated M for Mature, in case anyone is wondering, but as far as I know, it is the first mainstream release to include an option for ( Read more... )

I think Jade Empire also had a male gay romance character as well. But still, it's nice for them to be more inclusive, especially since, as far as I'm aware, there wasn't a gay male character in Mass Effect (though if you wanted girl/girl they could provide it for you which is nice but it also kinda felt like they were pandering for titillation).

Also Dragon Age Origins is a really, great game, though it has been a bit crashy on my PC.

Hey, thanks for the heads-up on Jade Empire -- I didn't know that. (Truth be told, I never tried that one.)

I agree with you about the ME girl/girl sequence.

David has been the one playing Dragon Age. I have been working a lot of overtime this month (4th quarter at a software company), so haven't had time for much gaming, and what little I've had has been applied toward getting value out of my Aion subscription. Still, I hope to give it a whirl at some point.

Happy Thanksgiving to you, by the way!

That's really cool and brave of them.

I killed that guy in my game, Human Noble dispensing justice and all.

I agree with you -- I think it's brave as well.

Work is devouring my life (4th quarter at a software company), and I've worked a lot of overtime lately. I haven't yet had a chance to play the game, but I've glanced over my shoulder at hubby's monitor a bit.

Good to see ya, by the way! I mean, I know you tweet and everything, but you know what I mean. :)

Thanks. I'm around still and read LJ regularly.

I have been reluctant to post much in the last year and a half. Both me becoming the boss where I work and my marriage breaking up and the things of substance I have to say are too personal for a blog entry.

So I haven't really posted.

The fluff seems to fit well in Tweets however.

I am sorry to hear the news about your marriage, and I can definitely understand feeling reluctant to post about such things. While I know that being the boss often comes with additional responsibilities, I hope that it is also providing some additional satisfaction.

I hope that 2010 is much better, and that it will bring some stuff that's comfortable to share on LJ!
