I have a big post that includes my thoughts on Serenity, but I've honestly had mere minutes to work on it in the last 72 hours. In the meantime, here's a poll about it.

I got to recommend it to a guy today. He'd told me he took his girlfriend to see A History of Violence and they hadn't liked it. It turned out that the movie was a compromise because she wanted to see Serenity, and he didn't. He said something along the lines of "History of Violence wasn't so good, but at least I wasn't stuck watching some awful chick flick. He'd judged the movie by the title, and had assumed it must be some kind of sad love story, or about someone dying from a horrible disease, or something like that. His face fell when I told him that Serenity opened with a bank robbery, involved lots of explosions and martial arts, and had plenty of spaceships and guns. Anyway, I think his girlfriend will get her way the next time she wants to see a movie. :-)

That was one of the factors that worried me with the title, but I figured that anyone who saw either a movie poster or an ad would be quickly disabused of that notion. Maybe he can use it to his advantage by saying "Honey, I want to do something for you tonight. Let's go see that movie." :)

I'll see it again this weekend, or, given that time is tight, just drop by and buy two tickets to it, more likely. I'm interested in seeing your longer post, though.

If time is tight, we might well do the same thing, given that I have to make banana pudding, go to dinner with friends we haven't seen in ages, and go over to D.'s parents' house on Sunday. However, I am craving buttered popcorn, which makes no sense, given that I just had it last weekend, so we might squeeze it in anyway.

You're more than welcome! I'm always happy to help out a fellow Browncoat with icons, and seeing as how nice and polite you were with the request in the first place, I had to do it. (Someone pissed me off with a snitty icon request earlier, so making this for you was a pleasure. It's always good to know that not everyone in fandom is rude.)
