Torchwood: Children of Earth, Day Three

Jul 09, 2009 00:33

So yes. I finally managed to write a reaction post. Damn you, Americans and non-GMT people for getting on the internets and being amusing when it's 3am my time and I'm asleep. So apologies in advance if I don't reply to your comments till tomorrow morning, my time. On the other hand, I might just go with completely altering my circadian rhythms. ( Read more... )

Spears/Jack when she first starts working for the government is pretty much canon, right?

OH YEAH, BABY.

I had love surgically grafted to my heart last year. It burned a lot.

IN SUMMARY: NOTHING HAPPENED, BUT NOBODY REALLY NOTICED.

HA! Yes! And it was GLORIOUS!

Ianto Jones owns every bit of my heart. Every stinking bit. ITA about that scene between him and Jack. It NEEDED to be awkward and uncomfortable because the entire idea of Jack just going on is really awful, even if its the way it has to be. At least it was better than the Dead Line, which was so ridiculously emo I couldn't believe Ianto was saying it. I mean, sure he thought Jack was in a coma but... a little TOO much. That said, I'm glad we are getting that discussion. Paired with the couple thing from Day One, we're getting to see past the innuendo and sex to a real relationship. NOW IF ONLY THEY'D GET TO THE TOUCHING! THAT'S HOW JACK AND IANTO COMMUNICATE BEST!

And yeah, I think we all called Jack knew something on Day One. It just didn't ring true. But since RTD has been pretty unpredictable otherwise, I'm gonna let it slide. =)

HEE! Yes, Ianto has taken my heart and made away with it like the terrible but sexy grifter that he is. neifile7 rationalised the exchange for me in a way that I could parse-- but I still think the writing was a bit off, but the delivery/expressions/acting totally nailed it.

I only rail against RTD cause I know he's won. I care, I'm on the edge of my seat. I have DEEP DEEP DEEP FEAR for a certain Welshman. WELL DONE, RTD YOU HEARTLESS HEART-STEALING MAN.

RTD really has stepped it up, hasn't he? REAL PLOT! On Torchwood! Who'da thunk it?

I see what you are saying about the writing. And I'm glad neifile7 put it so succinctly because it's exactly how I feel about though I could never say it so eloquently or comprehensively.

Alright, off to grad school for me, where I shall spend 6 hours trying not to DIE with the waiting. Boo school.

I meant to reply to this ages ago. Then, day 4 happened. And I was... well... you can imagine.

I love you analysis, you bring out some of the finest points in the episode. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'll retire to the land where this was the last episode of CoE

Thank you for commenting anyway. Really, much <33333

(There is a lot to love in CoE, I might attempt to do a big list of things I loved in all of the eps, just for me to look at in my dark moments.)

Oh, yeah, there is a lot to love in CoE. The first three episodes were fantastic. The "This must have been eating at you, you should have told me " conversation in day four is hearbreaking. Ianto knowing shorthand is one of those things that makes me smile. But... there's a lot that I don't really want to think about as well.
