Yes, yes, yes. I think this puts words to some of my feelings about the finale.

Especially:

I confess, I am both delighted and frustrated, because this is the fic that has been lingering in the back of my head since I watched the Season Finale and here it is, made real, before I could write it and far, far better. This sums up exactly the wrong present in Rose's consolation prize, despite what a pleasant idea it was. But there's still some sweetness at the end there. I don't know if you have read any of these, but if you are on the look-out for DW recs you must stop by ariafic's Manifesto, noldo_'s the frozen hours, and th-esaurus's Metric. The first two are Martha-era fics, brilliant and surprisingly sophisticated for the DW fandom; the last is Master/Doctor, & unsettling liek oh em gee.
