drabbles!

First off, hello to those who are new to my journal. I believe there was some kind of friending frenzy a while back and so I have some new people on the flist. I've finally gotten around to friending you back-- sorry that it has taken so long. Do pop over and say hello, and tell me about yourself. If you come bearing fic recs you will be given ( Read more... )

I was entranced by all your Harry Potter fics.

I flitted through that, and made my home in anime fandoms (read: poring over the archives) and then fell into music fandom.

But a prompt: Firefly, River and Jayne & oragami.

River & Jayne, post-Serenity

Origami UnicornsTen days after Wash's funeral, and Jayne comes back from a shower to discover three unicorns made from cornflower blue paper sitting on his pillow. The origami figures have no eyes but Jayne has to put them in a locker just to get any sleep. (Not that he can't hear the rest of the crew in various stages of awakeness; Kaylee and Simon rutting somewhere, the funny in the head girl pacing the bridge, trailing her hands on the consoles as if she can speak to them, Mal making endless calls to every contact he has, Zoe not crying. Jayne thinks: Zoe not crying is the loudest sound he has ever heard aboard the ship). Eventually he gives up, picks the unicorn in the middle-- he looks like the leader-- pinches his head between thumb and forefinger and then smooths out the paper with more care than his callused hands would suggest. The origami unicorn is pretty enough, but what is truly beautiful is the fact that it comes with its own instructions. Its body is a how-to manual, assembly and ( ... )

Heh, thankyou. It's lovely to meet you! I'm a bit out of practice on the fic-writing front I'm afraid, not quite happy with the ending, but it was a fun prompt to write. Whedonverse dialogue is a tricky thing, and Firefly has such a definite tone that it's always a bit weird going in a different direction with it... :)

The very idea that you might be writing BSG or Death Note is enough to make me fall over myself with glee. So:

* Starbuck & Leoben, the dawn of time

* Light & L, card games

I like the idea of the challenge, but will probably settle for being pleased at how many entries showed up when I searched the wiki for 30 Rock.

If you wrote a Voyager story I would be yours forever. I always wanted to write for it but somehow never managed (also: ask me about the postwar DS9 Garak/Bashir story sitting abandoned on my hard drive).

Dum de dum dum. The Doctor, an existentialist crisis, bonus points for Beowulf and Janeway/Voyager.

Good to see your name pop up on my friend's list popcorn_orgasms July 2 2008, 03:18:31 UTC
Nice to see you back. Hope life has treated you well. I love your Draco and Blaise quotes and I also was enraptured by the original piece you did with the time traveller. I don't know if we could request additional snippets of the latter, and unfortunately I don't remember the female's name but I have two possible prompts depending on your taste.
--Draco, Blaise, daisy (I thought about beads, time-space continuum and decided on this bit)
--Or Time traveller, the girl, river stones.
Either one will thrill me. I was wondering where and if I might be able to read any of your work--original or otherwise.

First off, I've been a fan of yours for a long time. Don't really remember how long but many years. I LOVE your HP fics, they're goldandangstandohsogooood!!

For a rec (I'm not sure if you'd like it, or if you've read it already, but I think it's an interesting AU) Stealing Harry by sam_storyteller.

For a prompt--let's see... Harry Potter, Padma/Harry, post-war, DarkHumor-and-Angst! (if it's even possible to tie the two together), and word prompt: ceiling.

Thank you! :)
