I loved the film, but yeah, the knee-deep water had me scratching my head, too.

:) It really was odd, wasn't it? There were a few moments where I scratched my head quite literally, as it seemed the appropriate response: maybe more blood to my brain would help it be able to understand? :D

It was one of the literal head-scratching moments for me, among a few others. I'll have more tomorrow, though in general, I did enjoy it. :)

my eighty-seven thousand word brief

*chortle*

Given what you've said about the cut pacing, I will probably wait for DVD on this one, but don't worry about spoilers.

Yah, sorry about that - I failed at recognizing it in my own work, got lost in my own need to be too clever by half. Sorry for the spoilery bits. :/

This makes me giggle, and I shall read it again when I have seen the film.

Y'know, I'm sorry - I completely failed to recognize the spoilerness of some of that. I hate when people do that, and I'm sorry I did it to you. I've cut it. Sorry I was dumb. :/

Apologies not necessary on my account... crunchywitch May 20 2009, 02:47:29 UTC
Two things:

1) I'm one of the people who don't mind spoilers - I don't need to know, but knowing what's going to happen can often increase my enjoyment of something, especially if the lead-up is well-crafted. It's part of why I like to watch & read things over again.

2) I didn't know you were being spoilery: my reaction was, Hey, this is a funny thing, and it describes a lot of Romulan stuff (except, maybe the spikes, but even that doesn't seem that far off, given how dark the bad guys' ships so often are), and you could write a sequel for the Klingon homeworld in the ep of DS9 when everyone is disguised as Klingon for no reason that I can remember.

Heh - okay, good, just wanted to be sure. There are a couple of mild spoilers, but nothing shattering or enormously surprising. But I do know people who really prefer non-spoilered life a lot. Myself, I prefer it for books, but don't mind it so much for a non-suspenseful movie.
