From PoetBear's son, JeepBearA little over twenty four hours ago, the world lost a great man. I don't mean he was great in that he was famous, made millions, led people across the desert or anything like that. Nor did he fix or race cars, watch endless team sporting events or hunt grizzly bears with just a sharp stick and his wits. I just think he ( Read more... )

Dear Paul,

Thank you for sharing about the passing of your father.

Sounds like he was quite a man and I know he will forever be in your heart and memory.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and all those in his circle of love.

Oh wow - such bittersweet news. Paul will be missed dearly by so many people, myself included, yet he is now onto another adventure, which I know he would love. I'm so sorry for your loss. I'll be sending warm thoughts to you and your family as you grieve and remember him well.

Please accept my condolences. I remember all the good times I shared with your father, thru writing haikus, joking about politics, or listening to some of the songs he so loved to post on Lj. I've not been on Lj for a very long time; I'm saddened I took a look today. He was a great man, & a wonderful Lj friend.

May I add my condolences, too. Anyone who can teach what he taught these days deserves to be praised and rememered. I liked his thoughtful haikun and the lyrics to songs which, taken as a whole, paint a cnvas of words and feelings that made me step outside of my own life for a moment and look at things the way I used to. Those little patches of youth and remembrance brightened up my days. I'll miss them, but I hope you'll get to know them through the records of his life. Vale.

I was just wondering and worrying yesterday, because he hadn't written any poems or haikus. I was thinking of him... I am so sorry for your loss. I agree, he was a great man...a great poet, a great friend.

I loved your Dad so much, as a role model, a poet, a writer, a fellow dog lover, and just an awesome person. I write this to you through tears, and the fact that your Dad could touch lives of people hundreds of miles away, should say a lot. We had been friends for over 10 years, sharing poems and problems sometimes- talking about dogs and health problems...this will leave an unreplaceable absence in the life of many people that weren't even part of his day to day life. My heart goes out to you, and your Mom, in your grief, because I can only imagine the depth of your pain....he was such a great guy. I'm truly sorry.

Love,
Madisun
