This always reminds me of The Day of the Triffids. By the way, Line 7 should be 'breathe' rather than 'breath' :)

One of my favourites since childhood.
Btw another correction, please - "its" in first line of second verse should not have apostrophe (being the possessive "its" and not the contraction of "it is").
