I'm losing my mind. I completely forgot to pay the electric bill last month, so now I have two bills to pay, and therefore less money than I thought we had. On the plus side, the bills seem to be smaller than they used to be. Somewhat ( Read more... )

You know, whenever my mother gets sick of our economy, she tries to talk us all into going to live on a kibbutz.

Never mind that Daddy's nominally Muslim, I'm Pagan, and she's a German lapsed Catholic. ;-)

You could try finding an intentional community -- essentially the same as a kibbutz, except in America, non-religious (though there's an awful lot of pagans drawn to them), and often slightly less agriculturally-focused (because they're in cities or towns without enough space to grow all of their food.)

My best friend lives on one. He says he can live comfortably on about $10k a year.

I totally want to live in one about 5 years from now, but I want some time in non-group housing first :-P.

The Watchmen

They've just finished a movie based on this book, it'll be out in March I believe...it's going to be amazing I've heard!
