А так, дословно - чтобы высосать из жизн весь костный мозг - не обязательно давиться самой костью
т.е. за удовольствия в жизни не обязательно придется платить.

Но тут нужен контекст

Все, знаю откуда цитата.
Тогда, по-моему, в смысл я попала. Т.е. чтобы что-то получить, не нужно бояться последствий. Ну и т.д. и т.п.
