Projects now open for claiming

Mar 02, 2012 19:16

Artists should feel free to claim a project now! Podficcers may sign up as artists as well, if inspiration strikes. For the time being, artists should only claim ONE project. In two weeks we will open to the claiming of multiple projects and artists may go crazy.

Until tomorrow, podficcers can submit their titles late to the claiming post.

This is likely explained somewhere I haven't found, but what happens with art? Do we make a post for it? Do we give it to the podficcer to post with the podfic (this is the one I'm assuming)? Is it meant to be a secret?
I haven't participated in anything as an artist, so I'm unsure of how it all works.

Thanks
Lizzie

1. Artists are allowed (and encouraged) to make an art post of their own to their journals. The link to this post should be given to me when we start accepting submissions. The post itself should remain locked until the assigned posting day (which will be ironed out closer to the deadline). You should, of course, show the podficcer you're working with what you have, no need for it to be a surprise on that count.

2. Art will be submitted in a screened submission post. I will upload all art to the big bang's web site and give you links so that you can use if you so choose.

3. Last year the mods posted all podfic and art to the community ourselves. This year might go a little differently, depending on whether I have enough time to update the web site in time for posting. That may turn out to be a summer project, meaning that I would provide a posting template and generally rely on one member of the project team to post the final project to the community.

... Does that answer all your questions?

I'd really like to claim kalakirya's Man From UNCLE podfic here: http://podficbigbang.livejournal.com/16932.html?thread=207908#t207908 but I've just realised the thread's been frozen because her Thor project was claimed earlier! Um...help?

Each podficcer may do only ONE podfic for the Podfic Big Bang. Since kalakira offered numerous titles, the first title claimed by an artist will be her project. Others may be submitted to the additional bonus round, if she so chooses, but those bonus podfics can't be claimed here. You can contact her directly, if you like. We're not doing match-ups for bonus podfics within the community (at least not right now).

Ah, right. Sorry! Thanks for clearing it up!

I totally missed the explanation about BB projects being artist's choice and anything else counting as a bonus round (I just found and read it before I realised you replied) - I think I'd assumed that the podficcers would be in charge of deciding what was their primary target, and so if they had more than one they must be absolutely certain that it'd be finished so it would still be counted as a main project...or something similar...y'know, my vague idea of how it might be working seems less and less plausible the more I overthink it! XD
