All right everyone, the cards have been made! I have the HTML done and am about to start posting them momentarily. Are you all as excited as I am? :D

But a few things before I start posting. First of all, if you haven't already, now would be a good time to read over the FAQs (aka the rules post ( Read more... )

Hello everyone! I have 2 questions for you:

1) I have a square that says "Repod cold". I've corrected it as "record cold" but I wanted to check, just in case it's a term I'm not familiar with. Never mind! Someone else asked that elsewhere :)

2) I have no idea what "splice fics together" means. I understand the word but I'm having trouble figuring out what it entails, in terms of podfic. If anyone has suggestions, I'm all ears!

Thanks! :)

Yeah, repod is the term for recording a podfic of a fic that's already been podficced. There's an entire challenge for it! (which I run and there was a huge debate over what to call the term so it didn't really occur to me that others might not know what it meant since there was so much talk about it... in one small corner of podfic fandom... I maybe should have realized that.)

And I just, right now, posted an explination for "splice fics together" here.

Hope that helps!

That's alright! I'm very new to podfic so I'm not familiar with the specific language yet :)

Thanks! :)

Erm, I may have completed a prompt already - do I post it to this community? If so, how should I tag it?

Ohhh, yes! Definitely post it! There's the posting format HTML listed in the FAQ or on the profile page. Also, feel free to use the HTML for the table I gave and show a link to your post on the prompt you've completed.

If you go ahead and post, I'll edit your tags in after :)

Haha, Andy asked my question for me. :D Thanks, calliglad!

So, yes to posting filled prompts here? I haven't seen anyone else post any, is my only hesitation.

(Because I mayyyyy have completed three prompts. Maybe.)

I was looking at my card earlier, and realized that although it seems quite simple and thus it never even occurred to me to ask till now, I'm not sure what a "verbal effect" is! /o\

Can anyone give me an example, please? :)

I would interpret it as using your voice/mouth to make some sort of effect, like whistling or a popping sound or just adding in Batman style sound effects like "BAM" or "SPLAT". Something like that. :)
