I really should watch that scene again from GoT it was PERFECT! ;)

And I'm really hoping that you continue to review Supernatural because you are my sanity in the crazy that is fandom/canon and I love reading about the episode through your eyes! THANKS! And happy new year!

A happy new year to you as well! And thank you, I'm glad you've been enjoying the Supernatural recaps; I have every intention of continuing them when the show comes back.

Lord Tyrion in the privy with the crossbow: best Clue game ever! Game of Thrones is far more hits than misses, IMO.

I haven't read the interviews themselves, just what my f-list has said about them, and....yeah, it's unfortunate. And IA that you can't necessarily buy what creators say in the press at face value, but that what they think is important can show through, and that seems to be what's happening here.

IMO the kind of person who implicitly separates Big Important Worthy Stories from Trivial Less-Important Unworthy Stories, who considers themselves ~above certain kinds of narratives, is less likely to produce something with genuine emotional impact?

Agreed. It's especially frustrating because the shows it's most clearly influenced by - BSG and especially Lost - were as good as they were, as capable of inspiring derivatives as they were, precisely because they understood that the Big Important Worthy Stories lose impact when they completely overtake the ~trivial human drama. Even as a viewer who heavily favors the Big Important Worthy elements of those other shows, I think the personal stories were crucial to making it work.

And a writer ( ... )

LBH, the greatest moment of the The Originals so far - and probably on The CW ever - was in the mid-season finale when Elijah said he felt patronized and the baby said "WAH."

HAHAHAHAHA OMG HOW DID I MISS THIS. I have to watch it again for this genius.

I'm so glad there are other folks on LJ who love The Originals as much as I do. <333

I know it can't keep batting a thousand forever, but it is the best!

But yeah, that first scene in the safehouse in episode 9, Hope butts into the conversation at that point and the camera pans to her contented little face. BABY'S FIRST MIC DROP.

My Mom watched the pilot of The 100 and told me it was terrible and not to bother watching it.

The second half of S1 does get significantly better than the pilot, though unfortunately it seems to have dropped off again.

Ooo a fandom in review.

I'm going to watch The 100 one of these days hahah.

I just started watching Vampire Diaries recently (okay like a month ago and I'm almost done s5 hahah) and I love it. Going to start the Originals soon cause I miss Klaus. He's not my favourite character, but things are just more exciting when he's around. Lol.

I was soooooo disappointed with Helix. I stopped watching. Had so much going for it that I love: isolated spaces, Ron Moore, Jeri Ryan, Hiroyuki Sanada (one of my favourite actors), creepy x-files themes....but whoa boring. So disappointed.

Definitely a show that was meant to be watched at such a pace, IMO. That breakneck plotting is a part of what makes it work so well.

Going to start the Originals soon

This is an excellent plan!
