A) General announcement that my internet at home has been down/will be down for a couple of days, and now that I am on a public connection LJ is being even more temperamental than usual, so if I miss comments or notifications IT'S NOT YOU IT'S ME.
B) I did, however, finish my write-up of S3 of The Sopranos. As always, please no spoilers!

Some very interesting thoughts on the role of women in the show's world, which is something I didn't pay much attention to when I watched the show (I've been meaning to go back and rewatch it, but Gandolfini's death has put a sort of ghoulish pall on that). I'm also not surprised to hear that Imperioli's commentary is smart and interesting. He's always come off as one of the more promising members of that cast, and I wish he'd gone on to do more - as either an actor or a writer - than he has.

Yeah, I think we're in agreement on this. Tony's impulse to protect those which he sees as innocent is contingent upon their retaining that innocence and on that innocence continuing to serve a purpose for him, and when one or both of those conditions collapses it gives him the excuse he's looking for more and more to indulge in that personalized violence.
Imperioli comes across as very bright. I was vaguely familiar with him because I think he'd been on Law & Order for a while? That's disappointing that neither role led to more exposure for him.
