Headcanon. Sam wouldn't leave without Adam.

!! How did I not see it before?! Of course he wouldn't, the poor loyal stubborn puppy pit bull he is. No wonder the rescue got all fucked up. <3

And that's why Castiel couldn't get his soul out of the Cage? Sam's soul just quietly stayed behind? That would be awesome.

or he went into one of his snits and distracted Castiel from the escape.

Cas is all "you'll see your little camp friend next summer!"

I think Michael didn't accept Lucifer's offer because he didn't care enough about the collateral damage. Like Lucifer, he thought it was all about the two of them.

Oh, for sure, which is where Michael is so alien to me. Lucifer, in thinking it was all about them, was all "let's not, with the bro-on-bro death and carnage." And Michael, in thinking it was all about them, was all "I WILL CUT YOU." Taking their perspective that nothing else matters on its own terms - Lucifer I can at least understand.

I see! Hmmm. Did Michael believe killing Lucifer would cause God to show up for the Apocalypse after-party? Perhaps Lucifer had accepted that God was going to be a no-show whatever they did. Which would make Michael all Lucifer had.

ooooh, that would work. I don't remember him saying anything to that effect but I could totally see that hope as being a factor in play for him on some level.

oh my goodness, the TRAGEDY, I like it!
