Hi, internet. I keep stubbornly refusing to admit my el jay is dying, despite going so long between updates and the inability to keep long-term logs of day to day life on Twitter or the dreaded tumblr, but alas

Can I just say that I agreed with EVERY SINGLE POINT you made?
McAvoy and JLaw were utterly AMAZING in this movie.
And 70s!Charles is HOT. Then again, McAvoy is hot. Period. Full stop. You could paint him purple and dress him in a burlap sack he'd still be hot. Plus, I actually liked the longer hair on him.
I read this a million hours ago and LJ would not let me log in for love or money so I could tell you how much I love you/this post/everything you said. I would like to draw hearts around so many of these things but mostly thank you for like...being incredibly enthusiastic about the awesome things that were awesome (RAVEN ♥ CHARLES ♥ QUICKSILVER ♥) while being lovingly mocking of dumb Erik and his dumb plan and the dumb stadium and his dumb muscle costume and his monologuing and ERIK GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER. Oh my god and the JFK thing. Your post gave me some necessary perspective in a few places... like, I love your point that it's just evidence of how Charles is so far gone when it comes to Erik that his reaction to the JFK thing was like I ACCEPT THIS EXPLANATION WITHOUT QUESTION OR COMPLAINT AND NOW I WILL CRY UPON THIS CHESSBOARD FOR THE TIME WE HAVE LOST

The trailers were so bad but the movie was SO AMAZING and young!Erik is so dumb! I loved that the two Charles' conversation - that you don't abandon people just because they stumble - applies to Charles but also to Erik. With old!Erik sitting right there at Charles' side.
But Charles and Raven are the best. And Hank is getting there.
I was so pleased upon realising that the crucial point of the movie was actually Mystique making decisions for herself and Erik and Charles also becoming aware of the fact it's her choice. Her two decisions at the end of the movie being delightfully middle-ground between Erik and Charles' ideologies and I totally agree with your wish that she becomes that more-radical-than-Charles but less-violent-than-Erik figurehead of the mutant community.
2-4 and 6 of fic you'd like to write are some things I do look forward to seeing, not just from you, but others as well. They're themes I hope will be explored a lot in the wider fandom.
