Not in any way pressuring you to do Yuletide, but I just went into signups w/o doing any tutorials, and it was a lot less complicated than I expected.

Yeah, I think it's probably best for me to just skip it. I'm probably going to have a lot on my plate this December and I'd rather focus on that than something I'm already grumpy about XD

I signed up at tumblr (I almost typed Tumnus) a few months ago and still don't entirely get it. But I do adore seeing pics of McAvoy and Fassy - there's nothing quite like scrolling down the dash and having to stop to exclaim "OH MY. FUCK, IT IS SO UNFAIR THAT YOU ARE SO BEAUTIFUL!"

As for the other tumblr stuff, IDEK.

I too am in this boat of nonunderstanding. I'm making it [comprehension] my holiday project tho. And ditto so hard that tumblr is for looking at pretties.

It's a whole new culture and I swear I'm just fucking starting to get to the point where I can add someone on LJ before they add me, so... baby steps. THIS. YES. I agree SO MUCH. It's going to be a while before I fully embrace tumblr, but... I'm trying too. And may also be too old for the internet? IDEK. :P

When littledust and I first met IRL a few months ago (after years of knowing each other online and about a year of living in the same city), we totally bonded over being afraid to friend people first. WE'RE NOT ALONE. EVERYONE'S AFRAID, APPARENTLY XD

I'm still working on the whole tumblr thing. Right now I have reblogged two things. And I think I need to sit down and catch my breath before I do anything else.

I'm so glad you said that about Tumblr, since you're younger and more involved in fandom than me. I don't get the Tumblr. I'm pretty sure I don't want to, until and unless there is stuff there that I can't get to from someone tweeting it. Twitter is my Best Of list where Tumblr is concerned.

I kind of thought Tumblr was the wall that I hit, where I am now Too Old For The Internet also. But I LOVE Twitter, it brings me funny/interesting/useful things. If you ever succeed at making the Tumblr useful, let me know how!
