So, one of the prompts I claimed in lemniciate's mixtape exchange was as follows:
It's late July or early August 2011 and two old fools, one African-American, decide to take advantage of the new legislation in the state of New York and get married

How awesome is it to get up ungodly early and find this? This was so sweet, so gorgeous; I absolutely love it!

For some reason, this:
"We should probably avoid talking about time and space travel entirely," David says dryly.

"Well, in front of other people, I guess," Canton concedes.
...just made me do this weird, happy squeak-thing. I love how it's all old hat to them but at the same time you still get the feeling (especially from Canton! Bless! ♥) that it's still this wild and novel thing. I can so see myself taking a step back years down the line from travelling with the Doctor and getting absolutely giddy at the thought of it. xP

I should cut myself off before I just stop using points of the story as excuses to fawn over the two of them even though they're just so GAH!♥ that they totally deserve it.

Even at twelve, her letters were frequently addressed to both of them. It was incredible, the first time he pulled one from the mailbox, seeing their names together like it was...normal.
